A visionary ecosystem dedicated to building joyful, liberatory spaces where Black LGBTQ+ people can rest, imagine, celebrate, and create culture together. This pillar recognizes that joy, community, and creativity are core survival tools and essential political strategies. By investing in third spaces, cultural creation, and intergenerational connection, this hub ensures that Black LGBTQ+ people have consistent, affirming environments that nourish the spirit and shape the future.

1. The Living Room Project (Third Space Infrastructure)

A transformative program building both permanent and mobile third spaces specifically for Black LGBTQ+ people. The Living Room Project reclaims the radical tradition of the “homeplace” — spaces where Black people gather to restore, strategize, and create culture away from the violence of mainstream institutions.

It is not a clinic, not a bar, and not a case management site — it is a community home.

This project builds the physical infrastructure of Black queer freedom — spaces where community exists without needing to perform, defend, or explain itself.

2. Queer Kinship Circles

A weekly facilitated gathering dedicated to rebuilding and strengthening the communal bonds that sustain Black LGBTQ+ life. Rooted in tradition, spirituality, and intergenerational connection, Kinship Circles function as chosen family in action.

Kinship Circles recreate what many Black LGBTQ+ people were denied: family, continuity, ritual, and a sense of belonging that cannot be taken away.

3. Black Trans Futures Lab

A visionary creative incubator building the cultural, artistic, and historical legacy of Black trans and queer people. The Futures Lab uplifts creators while documenting and celebrating the past, present, and future of Black LGBTQ+ life.

The Lab ensures that Black trans and queer people are not only surviving but building the cultural future — with our own voices, on our own terms.
