Housing Director
Position Overview
The Housing Director reports to the Executive Director and leads all housing-focused programs and initiatives for C.T.T. C.O.T.T.O.N. This person is responsible for ensuring safe, stable, and affirming housing solutions for Black and Black LGBTQ+ community members, while managing partnerships, compliance, advocacy, and staff oversight.
The Housing Director will be a strategic leader, balancing program management, systems building, community engagement, and accountability, ensuring that housing programs are responsive, equitable, and trauma-informed.
Key Responsibilities | Housing Director
Program Leadership & Operations
Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of housing programs that address immediate stabilization, long-term housing solutions, and client empowerment.
Ensure programs are trauma-informed, culturally competent, and affirming, specifically for Black and LGBTQ+ community members.
Monitor program metrics and client outcomes, using data to inform improvements and demonstrate impact to stakeholders.
Develop, maintain, and update program policies, operational workflows, and procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
Community & Partner Engagement
Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with housing providers, shelters, landlords, and community-based organizations to expand housing options.
Advocate for tenant rights, housing justice, and systemic solutions that address inequities affecting Black and LGBTQ+ communities.
Represent C.T.T. C.O.T.T.O.N. in coalitions, networks, and community forums, ensuring the organization’s mission and community voice are amplified.
Staff Supervision & Development
Recruit, supervise, and mentor housing program staff, interns, and volunteers to ensure effective program delivery.
Foster a values-driven, collaborative, and accountable work culture that prioritizes staff well-being and professional growth.
Provide ongoing training and guidance to staff to maintain high-quality, trauma-informed services.
Financial & Compliance Oversight
Develop, monitor, and manage housing program budgets, ensuring responsible allocation of resources.
Ensure compliance with all funding requirements, grants, contracts, and legal obligations.
Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and Finance team to align resources with program priorities and organizational goals.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $75,000 annually
Pay Raises: Built-in, performance- and sustainability-based raises
